Hot Cinnamon Raisin Apples

Rationale: high in fiber, easy, gluten free, post-workout snack, breakfast

Variations: use pears instead of apples, add nuts if desired, use apple/pumpkin pie spice or just add nutmeg, cloves, and/or allspice

Serving suggestions: Serve it while it’s hot!


  • 2 Tbsp raisins
  • 1 medium apple, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1-2 Tbsp water
  • sprinkle of cinnamon


Put all the ingredients into a small bowl in the order shown. (You want the raisins on the bottom so they get soft and plump in the liquid.)  Put it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes depending on how powerful your microwave is and how soft you like your apples. Smell how great your kitchen smells. Enjoy!
